Protection from severe traveller’s diarrhoea.
Recommended in the case of longer stays in certain countries with poor hygienic conditions – look closer on the map here. The illness leads to severe diarrhoea followed by dehydration, a condition that is especially serious with small children.
The vaccination is given as capsules.
Children in the age of 2 to 6 years old should take 3 capsules with 1-week intervals.
Children older than 6 should take 2 capsules with a 1-week interval.
The protection lasts for 6 months. In the case of stays longer than 6 months, the vaccination is therefore repeated.
